We are Paul and Karen, and we are the proud owners of Jack's Place.
We have both travelled extensively and have enjoyed a variety of holidays and experiences, but after Paul introduced Karen to Barbados in 2015, we found ourselves being drawn back to the enchanting allure of the island time after time.
It was this attraction that made us decide to create a home away from home on the island for us, our family and friends. So back in 2022 we started the search for our paradise retreat. It was an emotional journey during which we found, made offers on, and lost two very different properties. At that point, we felt we would never achieve our dream: so we stopped looking.
But one drizzly April day in the UK, whilst sitting on the sofa and browsing through 'For Sale' listings (as you do, but which we had promised ourselves we wouldn't do again!), we stumbled upon a property that seemed too good to be true. We made enquiries the next day, and within a week our offer had been accepted. The purchase process went incredibly smoothly and when we finally saw the house for the first time, we knew we had found our perfect place. It was meant to be
We were given the keys in September 2024 and then began the process of identifying the right team to reconfigure the existing house and to transform the outside space into what it is today.
Work started in January and completed in August 2025. It was very much a team effort and a challenging project to manage from 4,000 miles distant! But we are over joyed with the result and are looking forward to spending as much time as possible on the island we love and in the home we have created.
